Hand Tufted Rugs are a "hack" as my kids would say. Instead of a human having to hand-knot or hand weave a rug, they use a tufting gun. The tufting gun injects the wool, through a backing cloth, from behind, to create a very soft, intricate pile pattern. The result is a lower price point, solid wool rug.

Each pile is individually injected, the closer the tufts, the higher the density. Products of a higher density use a larger amount of material and are therefore more expensive. The quality of the wool is also important. All of our Hand Tufted Wool ranges are made with high grade wool and have over 250,000 tufts per square meter.
